Local officials have set property tax rates for the current tax year and while many of the rates are unchanged from 2017, the total tax amount will increase by about 2.3 percent.
The property tax rate set by the Lewis County Board of Education this year is 49.4 cents per $100 valuation, up from 47 cents a year ago. All other real estate tax rates remain unchanged from last year.
