Gary W. Johnson has been found guilty of first degree sexual abuse with a victim under 12 years of age, a class C felony.
Johnson’s trial got underway Monday in Lewis Circuit Court and was continued until Tuesday morning. Attorneys presented closing statements late Tuesday morning and the jury returned a verdict of guilty following a short deliberation.
Johnson’s trial came nearly a year after the incident was reported to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Following a lunch break Tuesday, the jury heard again from attorneys and a couple of witnesses before being asked to recommend a sentence.
