Jamie Weddington has been named as the new Superintendent of Lewis County Schools.
The announcement came following a closed session of the Lewis County Board of Education Tuesday evening.
Weddington has been serving as Director of Pupil Personnel for the school district and was LCHS Principal from 2005 to 2009.
“I’m excited about the opportunities and the challenges we face here in the Lewis County School District,” Weddington said immediately after being named to the post.
“I will work with our board of education to continue the progress we’ve made on behalf of the students of Lewis County,” he added.
“We made a unanimous decision as a board and we feel we have made a decision to take our district to the next level,” said Board Chair Bryan McRoberts.
