Venus Ruth Burchett Butler, 57, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at her home.

She was born March 3, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of John Paul Burchett (Bonnie) and the late Elsie Ruth Foster Burchett.

Venus attended the Bridge Church and was a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed going to church, camping, farming, being out on the farm, riding the tractor and side-by-side, boating, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ricky Allen Butler; two sons, Allen Butler (Kasey) and Derrick Butler (Stephanie) of Vanceburg; four grandchildren, Rikki Shay, Letty Jo, Sidney Brook and Ansley Ruth; four brothers, Mickey Burchett of Olive Hill, Phillip Burchett of Cleveland, Ohio, Bryan Burchett of Somerset, and Jay Burchett of Old Trace; a half-brother, Johnny Burchett of Atlanta, Georgia; a half-sister, Vickey Fraley of Lexington; and one stepsister, Valerie Wilson of Morehead. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Hansel Butler and Bro. Ben Collier officiating. Burial will follow in Butler Cemetery at Tar Fork.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021, and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Greene, Sam Lowe, Eric Burchett, Mike Burchett, Jason Burchett, and Tom Bertram.
