Storms pound Crooked Creek area:
Flash floods over the weekend of July 28 and 29, 2001,
resulted in considerable damage.

Sheriff Bill Lewis surveyed damage Sunday morning on Ky. Rt. 3309. Storm damage was extensive in northeastern Lewis County over the weekend.

Trinity resident Robert Nash surveys damage to one of his barns following flash flooding Saturday in that area. Debris was left in the barn damaging several pieces of equipment and destroying tobacco patches following the flooding.

Debris lodged against a bridge near Wesley Chapel in northwestern Lewis County. Flash flooding over the weekend resulted in extensive damage to that part of the county.

Flash flooding transformed driveways into running creeks that scoured roadbeds.

This tobacco field was destroyed over the weekend and several other fields were damaged by flooding and storms this past week.
