Greg Stone

Gregory Dale Stone, 62, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

He was born February 14, 1958, in Lewis County, a son of Virgie Evans Stone of Vanceburg, and the late Denny Ray Stone.

Gregory attended the Southern Manor Baptist Church and retired from the Lewis County Road Department. He enjoyed riding his trike, farming, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchild.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vickie Thurman Stone; one son, Gregory Dale Stone II (Stephany) of Vanceburg; two daughters, Brenda Sue LaMonda (Andy) of Mt. Olivet, and Rebecca Hurst (Kenneth) of Flemingsburg; seven grandchildren, Samantha (Wyatt), Gracie, Matthew, Waylon, Levi, Korbyn, and Emma; one great-granddaughter, Sophia; and three brothers, Duane Stone (Pat), Lanny Stone (Marilyn), and Darrell Stone (Chastity), all of Vanceburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Richard Thurman and Bro. Arthur Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery at Camp Dix.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020, and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Stone, David Stone, Bill Stone, Daniel Stone, Wyatt Conley and Austin Tumlin. Matthew Hurst, Waylon Stone, and Levi Stone will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, we ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing.
