Sheriff Johnny Bivens said he and Deputy Bryon Walker began pursuit of a suspect vehicle after Walker identified a passenger in the auto as having a warrant for his arrest.
Walker and Bivens had been observing a Garrison area residence when the suspect exited the residence and got into the auto.
Bivens said he and Walker chased the white Chevrolet Lumina east on Ky. Rt. 8 through Quincy, into Greenup County and across the Carl Perkins Bridge at Portsmouth, at times reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles-per-hour.
