Catherine Louise Carver Davis, 79, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday evening, May 8, 2017, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care Center.
She was born January 1, 1938, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late George and Dorothy Carter Carver.
Catherine was a member of Wrights Chapel Church and enjoyed going to church, working in her flowers, cooking, canning, listening to music, watching the UK Wildcats on TV and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Kimberly Davis and John and Tracy Davis, all of Vanceburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Joe Spencer of Azle, Texas, Cindy and Leon Shepherd of Vanceburg, and Tonya and Wayne Mustard of Toledo, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Butch Carver, Bob Carver and Gary Carver, all of Garrison, and Dave Carver of South Shore; and three sisters, Wanda Pruitt, Marcella Cabell and Edna Bloomfield, all of Garrison. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John William Davis; three sons, Joe Farris, Terry Farris, and Eddie Farris; one grandson, Johnathon Davis; and two brothers, Norman Carver and Cecil Carver.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Wrights Chapel Church at Garrison with Bro. Clarence Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue in Garrison. Mrs. Davis will lie in repose one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Laithon Davis, Cody Spencer, Jordan Davis, Josh Shepherd, Jo Jo Shepherd, Terrence Mustard, Corey Davis and Arika Davis.
