The Lewis County Lions basketball team
won their second straight 62nd District title with a 77-67 win over Elliott County last
Friday night. They became only the second team at LCHS to win two straight district
titles. The Lions are coached by Joe Hampton and assistants Bo Silvey, Jim Lykins and Todd
Ruckel. Team members are, front row, left to right, Drew Curtis, Nathan Gilbert, Laine
Hughes, Brandon Hughes, Clay Applegate, Glenn Smith and Tyler Clark; second row, Nathan
Bond, Ashley Cooper, Joe Fitch, Jason Weddington, Chris McCall, Woody Underwood, Aaron
Kegley and Tommy Barbour. The Lions competed Wednesday, March 7, in the 16th Regional
Tournament at Morehead State University, losing to Greenup County 57-50 in overtime. |
