Santa was the guest of honor for the Christmas parade in Garrison Saturday. Because of the wet conditions, Santa rode inside the Garrison Fire Department truck. Worth Stanfield, waving, was one of the organizers of the  Christmas Parade in Vanceburg Saturday. The annual event follows the traditional parade route through the downtown area. Company officials and dignitaries held a ceremonial groundbreaking last week on an expansion project for Coroplast in the Black Oak Industrial Park. The 40,000 square foot addition will bring the total area of the facility to 90,000 square feet. A thick and chilly fog greeted Lewis County farmers and crafters who arrived shortly after dawn to set up for the annual Fall Harvest Day on Saturday in Vanceburg. Fortunately, the sun eventually broke through the mist revealing about two dozen stands offering produce, craft and baked goods for a steady stream of customers throughout the day. Despite the gloomy skies and threat of rain, Lewis County Farmers Market member Marinell Ash, at right, had a truckload of locally grown produce available for eager customers when the market opened Saturday morning. The market is located at the east side of the Bee Mart parking lot on the AA Highway, south of Vanceburg, and will be open Tuesdays and Saturdays at 8 a.m. throughout the growing season.
